You’ve probably heard that there are certain foods you should avoid when you have braces. We have two guidelines to help you to make smart food choices – avoid hard, crunchy foods and sticky, chewy foods.
Brushing and flossing are even more important when you have braces, but it is also more tedious. Braces create small nooks and crannies for food to stick, which can lead to cavities and gum problems. If plaque stays on your teeth for an extended period of time, you can get decalcified areas (white spots).
